Topic: “In My Own Name: Lessons Learned and Challenges Left”
In the decade since publishing her book In My Own Name, Maureen has spoken across Canada on legal issues at the end of life, worked for women’s health and equality rights, and co-chaired the National Expert Commission on the transformations of the Canadian health care systems, established by the Canadian Nurses Association in 2011. She will share lessons learned during her life as a young woman, a political wife, mother and grandmother, striving to ensure that her voice has been heard and heeded on issues of equality and legal reform that have been her life’s passion.
