Diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1999. She is an original member of Rowbust Breast Cancer Survivor Dragon Boat Team formed in early 2000. She was a member of Rowbust Board of Directors for 5 years. She has held various positions with the Rowbust Committee and with Dragon Boat Canada. She was Co-Chair of Fanshawe Dragon Boat Festival. She was Instrumental with Rowbust in Dragon Boat Canada recognizing the Breast Cancer Survivor Division at the Canadian National Championships in 2010 and with Rowbust in the International Dragon Boat Federation recognizing the Breast Cancer Survivor Division at the Club Crew World Championships in 2014. She was eight-time Canadian National Champion in the Breast Cancer Survivor Division (2010 – 2017) and Club Crew World Champion in the Breast Cancer Survivor Division in Ravenna, Italy 2014 and Adelaide, Australia 2016.
