When the Japanese Imperial Army invaded Dutch Indonesia in 1942, they moved from country to country, taking, killing, and spreading terror and brutality among their prisoners. Pauline will talk about her experience as a nine-year-old in concentration camps which saw her change from a happy, normal child into an inward, silent, and lonely person. Finally, after sixty years, she spoke out through her book, The Remains of War, and today delights in taking its message to audiences wherever she can.
